What is Mozilla Service Week?
Mozilla Service Week is a week-long event during which we are asking individuals to step up and make a difference by using the Web to better their community. Mozilla Service Week is based on the belief that everyone should know how to use the Internet, have easy access to it, and have a good experience when they're online. By utilizing our community's generosity and talents for writing, designing, programming, developing, and all-around technical and Internet know-how, we believe we can make the Web a better place for everyone.
When is Mozilla Service Week?
In 2009, Mozilla Service Week is September 14 to September 21.
When can I register my project?
You can register your project and the number of hours you've donated before, during, and after Mozilla Service Week. However, we will stop counting successfully donated hours one week after the end of Mozilla Service Week, so we can calculate the Grand Total. We encourage you to plan your projects and come back to tell us all about it before September 28, 2009.
Must my project happen during Mozilla Service Week?
We would like to encourage as many people as possible to donate their time and energy during the Mozilla Service Week period of September 14-21, 2009. However, if your service project falls outside this timeframe, we'll still accept it. The most important thing to us is the good that you are doing. Please do come back and tell us all about your project, and make sure your donated hours are counted at least seven days after Mozilla Service Week has ended so we can include them in our final total.

If you would like to do good in your local community before the Mozilla Service Week begins in earnest, please do so. We encourage everyone to make a difference.

How can I find others to join me and help out with my project?
We recommend that you list your project on PledgeBank. It's a great way to get like-minded volunteers to know what you are planning so they can sign up to join your project. You could also post your project on your favorite social network, and blog or tweet about it. Once you tell people what you're doing, you might be surprised how many of them want to help!
